The Crib Project: Twilight and Moving

Ok I know I am being wayyyy behind on this Twilight frenzy, but yeah, I finally watched the movie on Star Movies last night. In a nutshell:

  1. Edward Cullen is mysterious, and by not talking it makes him more interesting (I have this thing about less-talking guys, so am I letting myself into the Cullen Club now?)
  2. The soundtrack is awesome especially during the part when Bella discovers that Edward is a vampire.
  3. I love the baseball scene. There is something cool about vegetarian vampires, baseball, thunderstorm and a Muse song.
  4. I feel like reading the book now (because previously I had an idea that it is just a typical vampire story suck blood, whatever)
  5. It is a teenage genre actually, but there is something interesting about Stephenie Meyer’s story telling (well at least I think so).
  6. I can watch New Moon now.

Back to real life….

Moving day is this Thursday. Our current house is an M to the ESS. Seriously, packing a double storey house is exhausting, man. Glad we are moving into a cozier one-storey crib.

And I discovered that I have way too much junks in the house, especially plastic and paper bags. I am so putting away the plastic bags (so much of trying to be an eco-friendly person). If there is one thing this home move taught me, it will be never ever stash too much things “you-know-you-are-not-going-to-need-it-but-you-still-keep-it-just-in-case”. Trust me, the case rarely happens.

Lastly, electrical and lighting is finishing today (hope so). Hubby is supervising it, and I can’t wait to see the results. I think we both have an obsession with lights ;P.

The Crib Project: Checklist!

Just bought this book, and i think it pretty much helps me with something i talked about previously.Am at the middle now,and its a real page-turner.

The Crib project is progressing a lot these days,so does the cash flow. When you get your own house you want it to be perfect, but along the way you will learn that dreams do not come true overnight. So now i have to learn to prioritize (eventhough honestly, being the usual hasty me,means its a pain in the a**).Hubby had to bear with my hastiness quite a few times, and for that i am so sorry.I am trying my best to make do and be patient.Huhu.

Just a small checklist to share, maybe it helps when your turn comes soon 😉

1) Grill
2) Lighting
3) Movers
4) Curtains
5) Security (keys,padlocks,etc)
6) Update mailing address (to banks, insurance, membership, etc)
7) Utilities (Water,Electricity)

IMPORTANTE but not a priority yet!
1) Kitchen Cabinet
2) Wardrobe
3) Rewiring
4) Paint
5) Laundry area renovation

1) Garden
2) Built in bookshelf
3) TV Rack
4) Other additional furnitures

I made my own Excel worksheet for the progress, which also helps a lot with the planning.

Bukan senang rupanya nak masuk rumah baru. Will update again soon! 😉

Mixed Emotions.

Parents are coming back home for good very soon.

One of the girls,Mira,is getting married next week.

Hubby has a manual lense from FIL’s old Pentax, but it snaps beautiful photos.

Learning to take nicer pics now.And learning to edit them to be even nicer.

Hubby passed his exam!

We are closing the deal on the house this Sunday.

Hubby has agreed that we will have a cabinet for the kitchen. So glad that getting a less than RM10k budget cabinet is still possible these days.IMPIANA Sept told us that.

I bought myself a TEFAL food steamer with a great bargain (that was an impulse-purchase)

Am waiting for hubby to come home.10 days together during last raya holidays was the longest time we spend together so far.Made me miss him even more.

…and its raining most of these nights.

Attending many weddings this October month.Cant wait to shoot pics and meet people that we have not met for some time.

Company Annual Dinner is coming soon in November.Theme: Back to School. Now wth? What should i wear??

Yes,its just the beginning of the month and yet i found out that i cannot simply spend anymore!

Mr Boss is leaving the department.Getting a new boss now, he was a colleague who got promoted. So i reckon things will go well.Hopefully.

Yet another earthquake occured again last night.Double the trouble.Triple the devastation. My prayers to the victims and their families.May they recover quickly. And may we learn our lesson from this episode, again.

The Crib Project: Colours,colours

I am hearting these colour palletes for our new home. What do you reckon? Which colour is for which part of the house, you think?

colour pallete living 1

colour palette living 2

colour pallete bedroom

I have been in love with natural hues since forever. But i do love all colours.Yet when it comes to choosing, i always look to the practical factor. So mostly my preferred colours are staples (e.g earth tone, black, white, cream, denim) and easy to mix and match.

We just signed the S&P document last Saturday, but the house have not received its CFO yet.Hopefully it wont take too long. We cant wait to start with the touch ups and finally move in.

On another note, hubby is having yet another exam for his LAE this Wednesday. He is caught studying most of the time since last week.

So,here is a good luck kiss for hubby.

You can do it dear,i know it 😉

The Crib Project

Has been a while since i last updated.Honestly not so busy at work, but quite occupied at home.Or maybe just because i ran out of idea (uh oh).

I love writing. But the downside is that i am not so gifted with words, so that made my entry at least 2 paragraphs long.Which, contributes to a longer time when writing, which then made me look for the right time to write.Uh,whatever.

Anyway,i am feeling like making some progress updates on our latest endeavour.Or better known as a milestone (we should call it a milestone, right hubs?)

Before i start updating, maybe i should introduce the “project” to you.

Behold, our on-going,first time, biggest hole burnt in the pocket each month…

THE CRIB PROJECT (yeah i know i kinda sounds corny, but wth :P)

Copy of IMGP6077

Ok technically,it is not really ours yet, since we are only going to sign the Sell&Purchase (aka S&P) document this Saturday, together with the deposit. But,hey, always one step closer 🙂 The whole area is still CFO pending, so there is no rush to move in yet. Hopefully by the time our legal matters settle, it will be ready.Which i estimate maybe towards the end of the year.

There is one kind of feeling when you finally buy your own house.Maybe the good feeling of contentment.Alhamdulillah.Of course,angan2 sudah ada. Especially of what colour to paint the living, the kitchen, the bedrooms. Of what type of decor we would like to have and even what type of tree we want to plant at the garden.

The house is really not in an urban area, but looking at the good side,it will become a good retreat for our parents,if they feel like getting out of Kuala Lumpur.Hubby loves the area anyway,he is more to a peaceful,slow-paced lifestyle.

That is all for now peeps. Will try to keep updating on the progress 🙂
